Well let the countdown begin. The stress level in this house is off the charts. We leave in 9 days and I still have so much to do. I am so excited to get there and get this process started. We leave January 15 and we all will be returning January 25th. I spoke with Kiril this morning and he is so excited for us to get there, he is counting down the days.
This is a funny story, when we were talking to him on the phone he was trying so hard to tell me and Stephane something. We were playing the typical guessing game that we thought we were pretty good at... What we thought he was saying "Mama please when you come will you adopt me?" We guessed wrong than we tried again we thought he was saying, "Mama when you come we go to Embassy?" Wrong again!!! Now Kiril is getting frustrated as usual. Finally he said really loud "MP3 player!!" So all the warm and fuzzies we were feeling went out the window. All that effort and all he wanted to say was make sure when we come we bring him and MP3 player. LOL

Now about this how Blog thing, I am a terrible speller and I hate to use punctuation. So I am sure there is going to be times (alot) when you read my blogs and I don't fix my spelling and when I just keep on typing and don't look back. Sorry to disappoint you all!!! I hope I am good at this whole blog thing!! I will do my best.

I cannot beging to tell you how much I appreciate all of you and wanting to follow our journey. It makes me feel that I am not alone on this journey. I feel like I am bringing all of you with me. I feel so blessed that this all really happening. My heart is jumping out of my chest when I think of seeing Kiril for the first time when we get there in Kherson. I cannot wait to wrap in my arms !!!!

Some of you have asked me how long it takes to get there. We will fly out of Philadelphia at night fly thru the night and we land in Germany around 8am and than we board the next flight to Kiev, Ukraine we stay there a couple nights and than we board a train again at night and we travel thru the night. That is about ten hours until we reach the region of Kherson. : ) We will than get picked up by a family that we know there and will be staying with them. This might be the first time I ever said this, but "thank goodness for hockey". That is how we know this family they live 5 minutes from the orphanage. Their son plays here at IceWorks in the summer.

CHOW!!!

  2. Hey there - I am friends with Susan and watched her journey when she first hosted and began praying for her host kids to find forever families! I then followed Maria's adoption process as well! I am so very excited for you and Kirll! :) Now, I haven't been to Kherson, but we did complete two adoptions in 2011, in two different trips. From the 15th to the 25th seems like a really short amount of time to get SDA, paperwork, and court done! :) I'm sharing my adoption blog links so you can see our timelines. The first was LONG, but we had to process a separation first. The 2nd was really really short, so you can expect something in between them! http://macyadoption.blogspot.com/ for Dennis (rough adoption) and http://macysplus2.blogspot.com/ is for Amber.

  3. Melissa we are coming home between the SDA and court. My husband has to be at work and my daughter has to go back to school. Me and my husband will come back together for court. There should be about ten days in between. It seems like since things have changed over there it is a longer wait for court. I am only going on what I am being told. Thanks for your help. ; )

  4. Noelle, I am so excited for all of you. This is such an amazing journey you have shared with all of us. My boys are thrilled that you are bringing Kiril home to them. I told you it was either you or I was about to get my fourth son;o) Still not sure how I will fair with out you for so long but it is a sacrifice I am willing to make so that your dream to become a mom to this little boy can come true. I love the saying that some children are made in their mommy's stomachs and some children are made in other's hearts. Well Kiril was made in many hearts and he has touched all of ours in my family. Wishing you safe travels and sending all of our love.
