One Day Down

I am so sorry I have not blogged nothing yet. I am having some issues with Blogger. It does not seem to want to translate in English!! I am hoping this is even going to work. Our flight went very well Ivery long and tiring for all of us. In dont know who is sleeping more Jaclyn or Stephane. I feel great I am not tired at all. When we got off the plane in Kiev we just got our luggage and followed the crowd with no issues from customs. I am very happy about that. Another family that is adopting from here ran into some isses at the airport. I can tell you that Kiev is beautiful, not what I was expected at all. I think I was expecting something different in my head. It seems to be very wealthy here. The women dress great, always in heels and they all wear fur coats. It is VERY cold here. It has been snowing off and on since we arrived. This morning we had our SDA appoitment, that is were you go and sit in an office and tell them that you would like to adopt a child from their country. We told them that we would like to adopt Kiirl Astapov and they asked us to tell them a little bit about our family. They gave us some history on Kiril not much and everything they told us I already knew from the Leggiero's.  They also had a picture stapled on the folder of him, he looked so sad he was 8 years old at the time he was placed in the orphanage with his (sister) Masha. He had a family that adopted him and they where together as a family for 5 years. Than things changed in their family dynamics. I am hoping that when I get to Kherson I will learn some new stuff. I would like as much as I can for Kirils future if he ever wants to know I would like to have the info for him. Tomorrow we go and pick up the signed letter which I guess is like the approval letter that they give us to adopt from this country. We had a translator with us Alex. His wife is the one who picked us up yesterday from the airport. They are both very nice to us. I was also not expecting that from things I heard. Matter of fact they wanted to go out to dinner with us possibly tonight. The food is very good we had sushi and pizza and some crepes and lox and bagels, great coffee. Can't complain yet of the food. The biggest pain is that you cannot drink the water. Even when you brush your teeth they tell you to use water from the bottle. Little secret is that I brush my teeth in the shower every moring so that is a pain. Guess what if that is my only complaint I am doing pretty damn good.  Thank God for Skype I have been on it since I have been here. : ) Tomorrow after we pick up the letter at 5pm we go to the train station and we board and we travel for ten hours thru the night. I hear that is not a picinic by no means. I will let you know what we experience. Stephane is in a state of panic because they told him there is no food on the train. He was very upset about that. He said what if I get hungry. ARE YOU SERIOUS? I asked him. He said yes. So far so good, but we are just getting started. Cross your fingers and keep those prayers coming. xoxo Noelle
