Finally I hold my Son in my arms again!!

We have arrived in Kherson. The train was very long but we slept for the most of it. Stephane had to share a car with another man. That went good we were a little nervous about that at first. Kherson is NOTHING like Kiev. When we got here our friends picked us up at the train station. We came home and had to rush out to meet Tanya (our translator) at the director's office. She was very nice to us. (Kelly, I saw the pic of Masha and Kiril when they were young, she said she would give to us. Will we see her again?) She knows alot about Kiril's life in his past. I am really hoping to meet up with her again. Than we were taken to the orphanage (YEA!!!!!) we were all so excited about this. I thought Jaclyn was going to jump out of her skin!!! We went there and the director was not in, we met his wife she was lovely. We sat for about 40 minutes waiting for the director to show up. Finally he came we said three words to him he said nice to meet you and he left. They called down Kiril to come to see us, Kiril was taking a math test so we had to wait for him to finish. About a half hour later of pacing back and and forth we looked down the end of  a long hallway and saw this handsome little figure standing there with dark hair. He saw us, we saw him and he came running down the hallway to us in the doorway. He flew into my arms and stayed there for about 5 minutes. I was of course a basket case. He was so excited about seeing us the feeling I had was overwhelming. I just stared at him in his pinstripe suit with a huge hole in the leg and his zipper on his fly was broken, the arm was ripped. With all that he was as handsome as ever!!!
Tanya left us there with him while she went somewhere. We went up to his room and just hung out there with all the boys in his group. We gave them their MP3 players they all jumped on top of us with pure excitement. Kiril and Jaclyn ran around together like no time as passed. He had the same clothes on he had on when I saw pictures from when the Leggiero's where here in the summer. I asked him where his suitcase was with all the clothes we sent back with him. He brought us into a room full of suitcases and pointed to the one we sent with him. I have no idea what happens with all these clothes. We stayed until we had to go with Tanya to do more paperwork. When we were there we met up with the Seferts who are adopting as well. We all talked for a bit than we came home and had a great dinner that Zhanna made for us. She is so incredibly nice and so gracious to us. I kinda feel bad she is waiting on us hand and foot. Her son Niki is just  as polite as his Mother. We are very lucky to have a family here to stay with.
After dinner we headed back to the orphanage. Kiril was so excited to have us there and to show us off. I have already fallen in love with a few.  All the ones I love are the older teenagers, I just can't believe they are still here. Don't get me wrong I would pack them all in my luggage if I could. Very sad  !!!! We stayed until dinner 7PM than Kiril walked us to the door. Gave us BIG hugs and said see you tomorrow. I love this kid!!!
Some things I don't like, squatting over a hole in the ground to go to the bathroom, not knowing what is being said at all times, feeling like a piece of chicken in a shake in bake bag on the train, all of our drinks are warm, the pot holes could swallow the state of NJ, if we are in public everyone just stares at us like we have 3 heads, DOGS RUNNING AROUND HOMELESS!!!!
Great Day!!! (except for the things I don't like, LOL)

  1. Unbelievable! It's amazing what we take for granted. Stay safe and tell Kiril hi for us. You are all in my prayers.
